Spark Plug Tester
« on: January 13, 2025, 08:09:23 AM »
A guy I occasionally watch on YouTube has one of these and it appears to work very well (unlike the crap one I bought a few years ago). Anyone else have a recommendation? Thanks!

Friend back in the late 80's had a machine that would let you sandblast the plugs, then test them with shop air pressure which somewhat simulated firing under engine conditions.

Bill….. That was a machine supplied to garages by Champion Spark Plugs. I’ve looked for one for ages. Good ones change hands for silly money…..

We always used a lighted magnifier to "read" plugs for a friends Sprint Car, we also found one "cleaned" plug that was chock full of glass beads and thankfully did not use it :-).

That’s it. Restored working units sell for 4X that.
