Using stock banjo bolt with HEL SS braided lines?
« on: March 22, 2007, 10:31:05 AM »
Quick question to anyone who may have done the same with good results - I got my SS brake line from HEL last night (ordered Monday - superfast!) and fitted it to from m/c to brake switch - at brake swtich end I found the HEL bolt (supplied) to be a little short compared to stock and made it that much harder to screw in - so I used the stock banjo bolt. Now Im wondering - is this ok? Did I need to use the HEL bolt with the HEL lines or will stock banjo bolt suffice with the new HEL lines??

Thanks for any help (havent bled them yet but thought Id ask before I add the brake fluid!)
cheers
Andy

I used the HEL bolt and it worked fine for me. Might just want to check how the holes line up on both bolts. If they are pretty even, then I doubt it matters.

well you should be fine then. I think they just include it if your original bolt is buggered. If the hole lines up, it should be fine. Carry on.
