BMW R75/5 1972

What do y'all know about BMW 75/5 1972?

I just found one in a garage that runs and would be fairly easy to
restore all the way.

GET IT!!!!!!! I have a 71 r75/5. I cant wait to ride it. I am waiting on a new harness from bobs. after that I hope it will run. as far as the bike, make sure it has the headlight bucket and gauges as these are the hard parts to get. I bought a plain bucket w/out a gauge on ebay for about 160.00.

Hey thanks for the info. I'm hoping the youngest son will get it. He has voiced an
interest and low and behold this one turned up. It has the head light and speedo.
All I noticed missing was the front turns, and, I'm not sure about the side covers.
Neat looking bike with the toaster tank and all. ;)

Man I am jealous. mine is missing toaster sides, side covers, and (until today) headlight bucket. Uncle ernie is an efficianado (sp?) on these bikes.

I had an early 70's R75 back in the 70's when I was in High School.  Great bike.  6 1/2 gal gas tank.  Trans is clunker though.

Great bikes!  Love mine and looking forward to this season!  Just bought this one in November so I haven't had much chance to get out on it.

well, i know my dad just purchased a 75/5 minty toaster tank beemer.  he also has an african gray parrot whose name is beemer.  he and his wife also have two other gs1100 dual sports.

i think he would approve the above comment... GET IT!   :D

if and when i get a beemer it will be the K bike w/ the yellow body work and checker pattern.

My brother in law had a 1975 R75/6 that he loved.  Bought it for $3k, rode it for 3 years and sold it for $3k.   ;D

Used the funds to purchase a 1971 Moto Guzzi Ambassador police model.  He made the right choice IMO.  I've never seen another classic Moto Guzzi in the middle TN area!

One of the best Beemers ever made.  One of the most comfortable motorcycles of all time, too.

Time's up- you've thought about it too long already!
