Here it is again, sorry about that!
http://wwwmcc.murdoch.edu.au/ReadingRoom/film/dbase/2000/max.htmlMost of the bikes were Kawasaki Z1's, but there were some CB750's there too. I nearly bought a frame and wheels last year at a swap meet that was a Norton "featherbed" frame modified to use a CB750 engine. I vaguely remember the bike in the movie, I must go out and rent it again so I can see if I can locate it.
If you're interested in biker movies, try to find a copy of "Stone", it's an iconic Aussie biker film, not like the crappy American soft-ass "biker films' of the era, it has some pretty awful dialogue, but excellent cinematography and brilliant stunts. The writer/director/lead actor, Sandy Harbutt, kept costs down by using genuine Hell's Angels for extras in fight scenes etc, and paid them in beer!
The club's "color patch" that the cast wore in the movie, a stylised skull in a slouch hat was handed over to the Vietnam Veterans Motorcycle club in later years, and is symbolic of the link between both cultures. Cheers, Terry.
