Autometer tach?
« on: March 26, 2007, 07:02:02 AM »
Hey,

so a buddy of mine gave me this NIB autometer tach for a mtorcycle. I think he was going to use it on a harley project. I went to autometer's website and all they could tell me is that their tachs run off 1 or 2 pulse. so my questions are:

1) the bike I want to put it on is a 78 F running a Dyna S, is there a tach take off point on the dyna S?

2) How do I hook this up?

3) are cb750s single pulse or double pulse with the dyna s (I think they are double pulse with the points)?

You should be able to wire this right into the coil, no problem.  One side only and run it as double pulse.  Doesn't matter on points or elect as they both have double pick-ups.  Good score!  Those are pricey.
