white fiberglass
« on: July 18, 2012, 05:21:21 AM »
I have a tent trailer that has a white textured fiberglass roof.
Unfortunately with a bicycle handle bar hole in it now.
I think a layer of fiber glass would be the right way to fix it.  But the only fiber glass I have ever seen is yellow and would look bad.
How do they get white fiber glass?

Using coloring in the resin. Find a marine/boat shop and ask the same question. They should be able to help you.

Gel coat is what the white probably is. I made some fiberglass dragster noses with white gell coating. you may end up painting it. Maybe a graphic or stripe that would cover the repair.
No matter how many times you paint over a shadow, it's still there.

Ok, thanks.

I found resin coloring on ebay.

I will get a tube of white and experiment.
Painting was my second choice.

Much appreciated.

You may end up painting the whole thing anyways, if you mind that it doesn't match.
