Hey Heffay!
Don't get discouraged, it seems a lot of people read the tour reports, but few comment. I'm not sure why. The same is true over at ADVRider.com. The trip reports are the most popular part of that site, in terms of the total hits, but people post more comments about a pair of used boots for sale.
Looks like a fun trip, if you have grip warmers! Everytime I see the Rio Grande Gorge, it reminds me of that sceneat the end of the Milagro Beanfield War (the book, not the movie, sadly, the scene didn't make it into the movie). Near the end, Jose Mondragon drives the developer's road grader off the edge of the gorge! I can't see the gorge without thinking about the sound a road grader would make bouncing down the canyon! I guess I can't blame the producers for leaving that scene out of the movie. Who's gonna ask the BLM for a permit to wreck a road grader into the gorge?
Hope you stopped at the Apple Tree in Taos for dinner!
Your dad's garage looks like a fun place to hang out!
