Carb Confusion
« on: March 27, 2007, 04:59:47 pm »
If only I could spell conundrum.  It sounds better.  Anyway, I disassembled the carbs to my CB500, for cleaning.  Like a true expert, I never bothered to take pictures.  I'm trying to get them back together, and have been doing pretty good with the help of the crotchrocket fiche.  So far, I only have one piece that I'm not quite sure what to do with.  I've attached a picture.  Can anyone tell me where this piece goes?  Thanks!

Looks like the part that goes on the lifter arm that pulls the slides up between two carbs.  I thought they were a press fit into that arm.  I've never separated those parts.

I can make a pic if you think it might help.

If I'm reading this right, it's the part I've circled.  Mine isn't apart though, and they're 022A's.

Although, you can't actually see the part in the posted pic, it goes inside the circled area.

I've got a set appart on the bench now.  If needed, I can take a pic showing the ball studs poking out of that arm.

LOL!  Brilliant!  That's exactly what it is!  Back story:  last September I disassembled, and broke, the arm from the old carb rail.  (Previous thread here: http://www.sohc4.us/forums/index.php?topic=13597.msg132256#msg132256).  The Great Lumbee saved me with a new carb rail, and I held on to the parts.  This piece was from the one that I broke.  I'm back on track, again thanks to the folks on this forum.  Thanks!
