air tools!
« on: February 14, 2008, 04:59:32 PM »
How did I get along without them?  The air socket makes short work of the exhaust bolts and the 1/2" impact wrench well...

Until you have to repeatedly assemble and tear down the usefulness isn't that clear.

my air drill and die grinder are my favourites, but a planishing hammer would be damned nice

No doubt about it...air tools rule.  My air socket tool has saved hours of trying to remove old rusted on...impossibble to get off bolts and nuts.  One of the best tool purchases I have made!

I remember I didn't think it was worth the hassle of running up the compressor and then having to drain the air to get rid of the moisture.  Now I use it so much I leave it full of air and drain it only every 3 days or so.

I know how handy those air tools really are.  my compressor just puts air in the tires, and thats it.

Really more valuable for tearing things down since things need careful tightening when putting together.

The one major tip I have is to use an air socket wrench with a long extension for those pesky exhaust bolts, both removing and installing.
