Screen Trim - what to use?
«

My new Triumph is missing the screen trim. The Triumph boys can only point me to my dealer but I know that you guys will have some terrific and well researched (well tried and trusted) solution to this.
Even better if I can get it in the UK!
I know that this is more of a question that a tip, but a good answer will count as a tip...

Hi Steve. Here's one. There are a number of styles out there...

Just Google "door edge protector." Good luck!

an old trick was to get some small bore clear plastic tubing like windscreen washer tube cut down the length of it with a sharp knife and glue it on with clear adhesive.

Your local auto parts store will have self adhesive door edge trim in various colors.

Went to Halfords (which is the equivalent of my local auto parts store), normally they are crap for bikes.
They had a complete section of bike stuff; manuals, plugs, bulbs and accessories including screen trim, tank protectors etc.
Impressed!

in
hobby circles, it called combing or piping. it's used to create the cushioned or padded area around an open airplane cockpit, for example. I use windshield washer line split down the middle and super glue to make combing for the lower seal of my old tank, as well as around the perimeter of mu windscreen on the viper fairing I use to run. I'm planning to put some around the gustaffason screen in my rebuild.
