I figured out an easy way to install the carbs on the engine. I sprayed the boots with silicone spray  and used two woodworking clamps to draw the carbs onto the engine. They went on in about one minute. All you do is work one side at a time and take a few turns on the clamp and then do the same on the other side.

Great idea!  I've used a ratcheting tie-down strap to do the same thing, before, but this looks like it would be much easier. :)

I recently cleaned/reinstalled my 83 CB650 carbs. I pulled off the air-intake boots, then popped the carbs onto the vacuum boots (really easy with the rear clearance), then put the air-intake boots on. It took less than 5 minutes, and just about no effort... why not do it that way?
