Thanks Mike, guess I'm going to have to check the numbers on the Bike to see if they are the same as in the registration document.
There is no way this bike was first registered in 76.

 6pkrunner's bike is definitely '78 F3, only visible difference to the '77 F2 is paint scheme and side badges. Sorry I missed the chance to vote for ya 6pak, your bikes twin is in me garage

 I've read on this site that bikes sold in the late months of a year could be early release of next years model. If this is true then someone could have snapped up one of the first 77 F2's in late '76.

I only have to work Monday night and will be off for the rest of the week, ... I'll be able to get in the garage and check the numbers on the bike.
I did notice the head light ears are still in place but are black, not chrome.
I have a sneaky feeling that the frame number is not going to match the number in the title document.

Sam - pics of different F headlight mountings. As Scondon said "chrome headlight ears with the front signals mounted at bottom(F2) or a black meatal bracket holding the headlight on and a straight metal bar holding the front signals(F/F1)"  If you need detail pics of  F3 pieces, I can do that.
