Today the posty delivered my registration documents (title USA) for my newley aquired CB750F?

The docs state, first registered Aug 1st 1976..... but the bike looks like a F2...was that not 1977 ?

The frame number starts 1025*** .......the engine starts 3150***........WTF

The registration starts UCK and it's an F

Anyone any ideas or is it a F...uck...up

Well Sam it sounds like you have a '78F3 engine in a '75F frame. It's possible that a '75 wasn't registered until '76 and just as possible that someone swapped out the engine. Have you been had?

No Mike,...it was a freeby

It having a later motor fitted is no problem, but the F2 didn't come into the UK untill 77 to the best of my knowledge.

The bike looks like a F2 with comstars and twin discs .

I've been looking around for an old VMJC link that had the frame ID #'s for the UK and Aussie bikes.Couldn't find it

Pretty sure the UK frame #'s differ from the US F2 model which is referred to on our site. Easiest way to check visually is to see if the rear frame loops are missing(rear passenger pegs bolt to them on 75-76 F's). The F2 did away with the loops and added a bulky aluminum bracket on each side to bolt things to.

That was one of the reasons I was convinced it was an F2,...it has the aloy brackets.

The early F/F1s that came into the UK had like you said a frame section like the K for the rear footrest but I am not sure if it was on both sides of the bike. I don't have any clear pics of the early one on the exhaust side, it looks as if it also has the aloy bracket for the exhaust to hang from.

Do you have chrome headlight ears with the front signals mounted at bottom(F2) or a black meatal bracket holding the headlight on and a straight metal bar holding the front signals(F/F1)?

It's all been modded in that area Sean.
It has a twin headlight fairing and adjustable clubman bars but turned upwards.

You can buy a second hand one in the states for less than a 125-65, 836 Wisecos and a set of Kibblewhite valve stuff.

I went into the garage before I came to work to see what I could make of the footrest/exhaust hangers.

If you go to BOTM for April and look at 6pkrunners bike, well that is what I have in my garage, even the exhaust is the same.

Is that an F2 or F3 ?

F2 rear frame /footrest is different to the one shown, so, as previously stated its probably an F1 with F2 bits on it.
