CB350 front brake switch?
« on: March 31, 2007, 05:26:04 AM »
Building up a 72' CB350 twin, drums front and rear. When I disassembled the front end, the brake cable itself had a switch in it.  Yet I'm unable to find a replacement with the same switch in it. Is there a brake lever I can use that will have a switch in it instead? Any help would be great. Thanks.

I think someone used one off a later 350. Check out this thread: http://www.sohc4.us/forums/index.php?topic=18139.msg189185#msg189185

Is this the one? (It's awful pricey!): http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/HONDA-NOS-SL350-FRONT-BRAKE-CABLE-SWITCH-SL-350-69-70_W0QQitemZ200080402572QQcategoryZ35581QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQcmdZViewItem

Yeah, that second link is the cable, I'll probably just do what the one fellow did, get a newer style lever, probably clean up the front end look a bit too. Should be the same cable ends on the lever side eh?

My stock (69) hand controls and cables did not have a brake switch in the front circuit. I replaced the the front hand control with later model. This one has a kill switch whereas the old one didn't. Anyway, the right side hand control has a tiny button that is pressed when the brake is at rest. When the brake is pulled, the button is released and the traillight lights.

Here's the auction I won.

So is that the year it went to the switch on the lever? 71? I'll start looking around for them if so...

Hi
I thinlk my cb175 had the same type of switch was not very strong , but why not fit a reed  switch type sensor to the front end of the cable or the lever
this would do the job
