Indian id help needed
« on: April 01, 2007, 04:06:02 PM »
Just was given an Indian motorcycle this afternoon.
The thing sat in a garage for 20 + years...and looks it.
Now I believe it is a 125cc dirtbike, but I am unable
to find any markings anywhere on it.
The plate on the frame is totally worn out.
Suggestions?
peace,
michel

The Indian name was licensed in the early 70's by Floyd Clymer to some Taiwanese moped manufacturers.
Used to have a brochure--I'm looking.

Yeah, They made the 100,125 and I thought a 175 also (not sure about 175) Here's a picture from the link that mb3000gt supplied. I thought that I'd seen others, but not sure where.

                                                                    Later on, Bill :) ;)

And here is a moped like Phil was talking about

I'd be embarrassed, if it was called a "Chief" or even a "Scout". :-[ ::) It was bad enough when I found out that there were things like this with the "Indian" name on them. :-[ ::)

BTW, there are some decent pictures in mb3000gt's 2nd link, check it out. ;)
