first startup
« on: April 02, 2007, 04:37:22 PM »
earlier this evening, I set the choke, turned on the gas and started my 500 to 605 overbore engine on the first try after a winter rebuild. Cam chain adjustment and attention to the brass fittings on Terry's oil cooler adapter (drip drip leak) and I should be able to turn my attention to tuning and synching. I have to cut a big round hole in my right side lower fairing, to accommodate the finned points cover from the set I bought, as well as wrap my pipes and address leaks in exhaust where down pipes go into two-into-one. new sprockets and chain, install lower bearing I destroyed form new kit I bought. (I acutally bought two, this one is from Cycle-re cycle in Indy.I got here in three days (MASS) the one I ordered from proflo almost three weeks ago, no sign of it yet.)

anyway, I tore the thing down, replaced primary and camchain, put in a 605 overbore and an oil cooler and it started.

very cool.

Definitely Hym. There are a few of us around Boston - we meet once a month, and will be planning some rides once weather improves. Ride for end of May is planned to CT - Vonblonde (on this forum) is organising a ride). Should be a few of us.

cheers
Andy
