Round One to the Model A
« on: April 03, 2007, 07:54:23 AM »
Have not run my 1930 Model A Ford for about 9 months.
Yesterday I decided it was time.
Cleaned plugs, new points,
new condenser (condenser mounting is diabolical on the "A").
Drained gas--refilled.
Cranked like a Mother--no start.
This is now a very dangerous time for both man and machine.
Man will try anything--no rational thought processes.
No spark.--feverish activity.
Nothing helps!
In and out of the car 19 times.
I'm tired now--It's getting dark.
Round one to the Model A.

Put a 12volt wiring harness in it along with a fuel injected small block chevy and it will run fine  ;D

Probably have to box the frame and put in
juice brakes, too.

Phil, oh, hell, just give up on it, its a lost cause, ship it out to me, I'll take care of it for you, that way you don't have to worry about it. :D ;D :D ;D :D ;D :D ;D

Just kidding, I always wanted a Model A, but who knows what the future will bring.

Peace and Long Rides,

That thing has the spark advance on the steering column right?

and is it a magneto spark to that?

I've never really tinkered with one but my uncle restored one
when I was 10 or 12 or so, 1928 with a rumble seat.
I just remember bits and pieces of it.
