Case cover bolts = Butter?

What do you guys use for bolt replacement? I've seen allen kits on Ebay but how do they look in the beveled holes? I may just look for stainless phillips heads for replacements.

Mine were replaced with Allen heads years ago. No question in my mind that the Phillips "look" better, but you will appreciate the Allen heads when next you have to undo them.. which is one of those inevitable things. :-\ Either way, don't forget the anti-seize. In this case, I voted for function over form.

There are beveled allen head bolts. That is what I have, and honestly, when you need to pull the side cover off to do a clutch, you're not going to care how they look, you're going to care if they come off easily. You can use an impact driver to tighten/loosen them, but my roommate's Makita impact with the allen on the end can do the big cover on my 350 twin in about a minute, if that.

like Bob said,

Function>Form

I posted some pics on my website. I replaced all my flush-mount Philips screws with stainless flush-mount allen screws. Not only does this work much, much better, but it also looks better IMHO.

Those eBay auctions seem like a good deal. I spent over $40 on my stainless hardware and still need to buy a couple extra bolts!
