newer style carb reassembly
« on: April 05, 2007, 08:30:59 PM »

last year I dissassembled some newer style carbs, for a soak and rebuild,  got sent out of town and didn't get back to them for about 8 months, and have forgotten how to reassemble the linkage.

everything else is simple common sense assembly, but I'm having trouble with the choke rods, they simply aren't going together as well as they could.

only image I can find of these carbs is this one here:

http://images.powersportsnetwork.com/fiche/images/Honda/1976/Motorcycles/2001_CARBURETOR%20(ASSY.%20LINK).gif

(parts 2 and 5) which for some reason isn't connecting for me.

Everything I've been able to find shows either the earlier style lever choke (as many times as I've had that style apart it's eyes closed assembly!)   or a single carb of the newer style with no view of the linkage, which is the only part that's different enough to cause problems.

Does anyone know where a better image is for reassembly, or a guide for the newer style carbs?

The bike's a 76 hondamatic, runs good with my other carbs on it (lever style) but I want to ride mine!

thanks in adavnce
Ken.
