Okay, so I have successfully lowered the gauges and headlight on my bike from the stock position. Here is the before picture:
and here is the after picture:
I'm trying to decide now if I want to lower the gauges just a bit more, or if I want t bring the headlight up just a touch to be a little closer (as you can see there is a little less of a gap in the before picture... I like the closer look). Also, the headlight is now low enough that I'm a little worried about hitting it with the front wheel if I hit a good bump.
It was fairly simple, I just took the mount plate for the gauges and flipped it upside down and remounted the speedo and tach. Then it was just a matter of a coupler, some spacers and some longer bolts and down she went. I just replaced the headlight and blinker bracket with the cheapies I got from Z1.
Now my only question is what to do with my top tree clamp. right now I have a plate that I made up to cover the bar mounts (since I am using clip ons). That worked fine with everything at stock height, but now it just kind of blocks things and looks out of place.... Hmmmmm... what to do, what to do, what to do... after I get the timing figured out...
