CB750 -replacement spark plug wires??
« on: April 06, 2007, 10:23:35 AM »
Hi all,
I have CB900 coils (with Dyna S) on my CB750 and WAS running automotive wires/boots (graphite core) with much success. Well I stupidly pulled the boot from one of the wires and I now know the boot-wire are connected by a wire! So I need to replace this boot-wire....no problem right? Just been to Autozone and they dont carry this boot-wire combo so next step is PepBoys....however I have a few questions about wires/boots:

1. I have spare graphite wire - can I just attached a stock NGK boot to it and be good to go or is there something particular about the automotive boots (I have the terminal nut on my spark plugs already)?? Perhaps replace ALL the boots with NGK boots? Would this work?

2. In the Dennis Kirk catalogue they have a selection of wire/boots combo -which ones work for our bikes? Dont want to spend $50 for all four wires but something thats going to work well - anyone have any experience with any of these and if so which ones did you get?

Thanks for any help,
cheers
Andy

Andy...When I replaced mine I bought NGK caps and bulk copper core wire from DK. Caps are $3-4 dollars each and the wire was around $3 too.

Thanks guys, I sorted it out. Removed all the automotive wire/caps and replaced with spare NGK caps and wires I had from other coils - hope this works :-)

cheers
