left or right foot brake?
« on: April 10, 2007, 05:33:52 PM »
Have any of you ridden some bikes where the footbrake was on the left?
Does it really make any difference, or have we all just gotten used to the
current setup?

I know I feel safer diving into a left handed turn, because the brake pedel is on the
right. I Think

I rode a friend's '68 Triumph Bonneville and, for me, it is tough to make the mental adjustment.  I admit, a couple of times when I wanted to brake, I downshifted.  I'm sticking with Hondas.

I had an old Ducati and it had a left brake and a right clutch. The only problem is when I had to switch. It took me Months to adjust.

Back in the 70's ,I rode lots of bikes with right side shift. Mostly brits( Triumphs.BSAs,a Norton 850 ). I took my one and only riding test in 72' on a buddy's HD 350 Sprint. Also rode a few old sporties with right side shift. I haven't in quite a while........have to agree.....its hard to go back and forth between the two.....If you start daydreaming, you will get mixed up!!
