Sorry if this is a duplicate post as I know we had much discussion a while back about the Veyron...but I don't remember seeing this video of it actually hitting it's top speed....more than a little impressive!!

        Hey Dennis,

                        That was incredible!! 8)  Thanks for posting, I can only imagine that kind of speed. Fastest I've been in a car was 150mph in a 68' Coronet R/T and I was duly impressed! ;)

No problem Bill, glad you liked it...I too was impressed by it! Especially the comment about the fuel only lasting something like 12 minutes and the tires only lasting 15 minutes...a sheer waste of money ion the grand scheme of things but it sure would be a fun ride!

sorry guys, surely the 231mph of the maclaren f1 15 years ago without any turbochargers is a greater achievment

Stu does have a point there. Yes, the aerodynamics was for race, but a naturally aspirated engine pushing 231 MPH is phenomenal.

Well, but.......

The Bugatti is not a racecar. It's a proper car with a real interior, one that you can drive comfortably the whole day (if you don't miss a petrolstation).
You cannot compare a Mc laren to a Veyron, they're different cars. In fact, here's what Gordon Murray (designer of the McLaren F1) said about the Bugatti:

“It’s a huge achievement.”
