Are the forks he produces good quality compared to OEM?

I have a bent tube so I figure I'll replace both and put my stock forks with gators back on.  Tops are all rusty on those.

Every bit as good as OEM and much more reasonably priced too.

Forking by frank has been around 4ever - and does great work...
Cycle Xchange also sells brand new fork tubes for CB750's as well.
You can get them in stock length, -2, -4, etc...

Franks are hard chorme and a rockwell hardness of 72+ which is fantastic (decorative chrome is 35 hardness). I've got maybe 10 sets of Franks forks on different bikes - including my Honda CB750. Their chrome is not "show" chorme nor does it have a copper plate under-layer. This means the color is not as bright as the stock ones or those done by chrome platers. Hard chrome is a molecular bond and won't peel or flake. It's a lot more durable and should last forever. It's what is used to build-up motor shafts, electrical contacts, and other high-wear parts for turn-down back to stock. I have a friend who is in that business and I've got several pieces he's done for me.

Buy Franks - they are worth every cent.

Well seeing as how the forks pretty much keep you rolling, I would rather have useful chrome than the shiny crap. How much are they on average for a set?

Before I decided to go with the GL1000 front end, I called Forking by Frank and they quoted me in the neighborhood of $220 for a pair of stock-length fork tubes for my '70 CB750 K1. They also seemed like VERY nice people.

You'll have to call them. They won't take credit cards - COD UPS only. UPS will take a personal check and of course, cash. The set I bought last year for the CB750 cost me $240 including shipping by UPS and COD. You call, tell them what bike and year - they tell you it will be 3-5 days and you can count on them to arrive as promised. They make forks for 650 Yamahas, RD350's, about every Honda made, Kawasaki H1's and H2's - just about any bike you want fitted.

I simply can't say enough about them - they've always delivered a superb product and done so on a timely basis.
