CB750K2 near Ottawa, Ont.

Well, I figured it was time to say howdy. I have a 1972 CB750 that I purchased last fall in a quasi-assembled state, along with some boxes of miscellaneous Honda parts from various models and years. Needless to say it has been mildly entertaining trying to figure out which parts are actually for my bike, and which parts are just close enough to cause confusion. Work is progressing well though, and I anticipate having it on the road in a month. In general my tasks are: new handle bars, significant rewiring, new coils and wires, replace the fork seals, replace the cover screws, new tires, new final drive, front and rear brakes, clean the carbs, miscellaneous de-crudding and gasket replacement. The engine seems to be good, compression is fine, and it sounds so sweet when fired up.

The forums here have been extremely helpful. Every question I have had so far has already been asked and answered in the forum. Many thanks to all the people who contribute and share their knowledge. SOHC4 owners seem to be a particularly intelligent group, and capable of communicating with the written word, both of which are a rare thing indeed. I have also been using the Haynes manual, which is adequate but not too insightful.

Other wheeled things I enjoy are a 1973 Vespa Rally 180 (owned since 1983) and a late 40's Case VA tractor for snow removal and Sunday drives.

I guess I am an optimist, it could have been described as quasi-disassembled...This is it two weeks ago.

Yeah, I'm a bit better off than Johnny, my parts only span one decade, and they're mostly early 70's. That would be a good theme song though.

I'll send along a welcome too, I'm a couple hours from you SW of MTL. When your 750 is finished your Sunday rides will be more enjoyable than on the Case!
