Very impressive example of a mid 70's CB550-4!!! I had one just like it for about 3 years {85-88}, same color even. The flip top fuel tank was one of the things that made these machines big sellers. Reliability being the biggest reason for record sales of the small fours series. One a side note, many parts from the CB350, 400, 500, 550 fours are interchangable, as are alot of CB750 models. As longs as the CB750 had a kick starter, { 78 and older units}. I still have many of the parts for those machines stock piled, mostly electrics...... their weak points. Your brother should be proud of his handiwork and the mass of females that admire his work.
