Asked before...... need rear rim 72 CB500 still no luck
« on: April 08, 2007, 12:45:13 PM »
Still haven't been able to find a source for under 100$.... Is there one?  I'd actually rather have a used one since the front won't be new.
72 CB500.  Any ideas?

Hondaparts direct has them listed new for less than 40 bucks, you should check them. I bought the pair for my 750 for less than 200 thanks to a tip from Jonesy.

Here you go.  Just plug in the model info.  FYI, just because it is listed does not mean they have it.

just need the rim.....as far as good...?  light rust is ok.... my front rim looks pretty good after polishing etc... the rear had a bunch of sever pitting with chrome flaking off etc..  what would you say the condition of them are ?   any photos ?   This bike isn't going to be a show bike so they don't have to be perfect...but they can't be too bad....I'm rambling - long day.

If I remember right, the CB350 and 450 had one that would fit in 18", 36-spoke.
A lot of other bikes' should fit, too. Bikeyards ought to have a bunch, too.
See SOHC4shop@gmail.com for info about the gadgets I make for these bikes.

I suspected that when I read the price. If they were still available Honda would be charging an arm and a leg for them... >:(

greenjeans -

Measure the bead width of your rim. I have one which is 1 7/8" and one which is 2 1/4".

I don't have a tire/wheel chart handy, so I don't know if these are WM1 and WM2 or what...but the smaller one is a CB550, and the bigger is a CB750...both should work; the bigger will take a fatter tire...

I needed a front rim for my 350F and my wife (no M/C experience at all) found a complete wheel for $20.00 (+$40.00 for shipping) on Ebay!!!  It might be worth a try.

I found a really good one on Craigslist locally for $25...with a great rotor...   :)  Plus a good one on eBay with good rotor and the salvage yard even shipped it with the tire...   ::)

That's why I have extras...   ;D
