Not yet, but I'm considering a set of megaphones for a project. What's your question(s)? ??? There are some here who've ordered other things though. I don't remember who, but they've ordered headlight brackets, taillights and maybe handlebars. Anybody want to chime in here?

I've ordered many times from Mike, his wife, and his daughter and have for years. They are good people and are well trusted in the 650XS community. I've spent more than $2,000 in parts over the years with them and 100 orders maybe - never had a problem they wouldn't take care of.

Thanks for the response, the reason I bring it up is that I was considering buying one of the Commando style mufflers but was concerned if I could just slip this on to my stock 2 in 1 or do I have to redo my manifolds. Basically, I need to replace my exhaust and I like the Commando looks but the alternative is Benjie and I don't know about spending $850 if I could get the same effect by going to Mikexs.

The site is a good resource and I'm also planning on buying the controls now that I know that they work on Honda's. I'd like to see what else I can buy at the same time for my project.

Any advice would help.

Since the Comando exhaust he sells fit over the stock Yamaha XS650 head pipes, why don't you have some nice person to measure the outside diameter of their head pipe and type that number here? This way you could calculate whether or not it's simple to bolt-on or more complex and requiring some welding.

I have ordered quite a few things from MikesXS, including the headlight and tail light for my 750 cafe project. The parts are relatively inexpensive, and I have nothing but good experience with them

Well, we've hi-jacked his thread... :)

I agree with you and I never wanted a 73 TX. I lost one of the green 70 models on Ebay a few years back when I stopped at $1,850. I kick myself for not putting $5,000 on it. I looked for 3 years afterwards to find a nice example of the green 70 or a really nice Gold/White 71 - drum brake - kick only model. After seeing them go into the 6-8,000 range, this little 73 with 5,000 miles came along for $600 delivered (it's owner found me hearing I wanted an old Yamaha).

This looked bad, but I knew it had potential - so, I'm the happy owner of a cheap 5,000 mile TX650.

I have bought from mikes in the past and will again. the only part i would not recomend is the clutch/brake lever assemblys. both of mine cracked the first time out and i had to push the bike home. the parts were just cheap. everything else i have bought there was great though. and they ship fast (and i think free usually).
