A Very Neat Award!
« on: February 12, 2025, 09:02:32 AM »
Last night my wife and I attended the CVMG Ganaraska Section Annual Dinner. It used to be held in December, but a few years ago someone suggested that was just too busy a time. The change worked, almost 40 members in attendance, a record for our small group!

At the end of the evening our Prez. handed out a few annual awards. I was delighted to win the “Phoenix Award”, given out occasionally to a member that resurrects a truly “rough old bike”. A special one for my Sandcast Project. This beautiful trophy is the creation of one of our members, using a model steam engine that his Dad fabricated in the ‘50’s. The storage box is almost as nice as the Trophy. Very Cool!

Congratulations.  Looks like they only award those when truly deserving.

Thanks all! The fellow that built the trophy tells me a bit low pressure air tothe nipple on top will spin it up (after a few drops of sewing machine oil). Will have to try it.

Same here in Ontario. I’ve never been to the Annual Paris Show, because there’s always been a race scheduled. For the first time, looks like I might get there this year!
