Correct me if im wrong but the dr john frame had a parallelogram swinging arm to help with the torque reaction from the shaft drive . Which is what made it special , dont see that on the foal design . Its just a standard cantilever rear end . The side plates are similar but foal was not the first person to do that .

Dr john had a floating bevel box with a torque reaction arm on top, not sure if it should be called parallelogram.... the Magni Guzzi solution was surely a prallelogram, two swingarms... a friend's got one, total overkill...

Anyway, seems that Tony built that floating bevel drive too into his own guzzi frame which he showed to Dr John, see the picture he sent me.....

Not taking sides here... this is Tony's side of the story.... Dr John is not with us anymore... big appreciation for both

Out of curiosity, who built those "T-tube" frames with ears before Tony/John?

No sides to take both are very interesting designers . I have an offenstadt frame that is very similar but earlier . Im sure it was not the first either . The early 70s was a great time for chassis design . Up to that point frames had hardly changed in 50 years . Many designers came up with quite revolutionary ideas . My point is that very few of these ideas actually worked . To see which designs worked all you have to do is look at the gp results of the time . The good designs won the others while interesting didn’t actually work very well . The racing results dont lie .

its a pre monocoque more like an egli spine frame , i do wish i had one of those though . i have a shepherd cast alloy monocogue from the early 70s . i might be able to get a picture but dont hold your breath . i have a lot of this sort of stuff stored in different places and to be honest have no idea where much of it actually is . oh and back to your question i bought it as just a frame i think it originally housed a td1c or a tr3 engine . i bought a lot of frames in the 90s they were worth very little back then , probably not worth much more now !
