Just thought I'd take a moment to introduce myself.
I am the proud new owner of a 1978 Honda 550K. Purchased it from the original owner. The bike is pretty clean but has been in storage for about 9 years. I am beginning to go over it and get it ready to ride this summer. This is my first bike so I have a long learning curve ahead of me. I am a mechanic by profession, but for medium/heavy trucks and contruction equipment, not bikes. I also got the factory service manual from the original owner (real bonus there). The original owner was pretty anal about maintenance and upkeep so the bike is in fairly good condition. It was stored in his garage under a cover (there wasn't even dust on it when I picked it up).
I am looking forward to learning a lot and sharing my experiences here on this forum. Oh... I am located in NW Indiana.
