What an awesome lunch break!
« on: April 12, 2007, 11:23:57 AM »
Today, the local BMW store is holding it's annual Breast Cancer awareness event.  This event consists of about 10 to 15 different BMW's and anyone willing to drive them.

That's right, all I had to do was sign up and I could drive anyone of them on about a 10 mile loop, return it and drive another.  I only had time to drive two of them, a 650i coupe and a 335i convertable.

The 650 churned out 360hp but it was geared waaaayyy talll and just a cruiser.  But the 335i twin turbo really kicked some ass!  It was awesome, and I reallllllyyy reeemed it good!  I had it in a 4 wheel powerslide 4 times!  Man that was THE best handling car I've ever been in.  Very very quick and ULTRA stable.  Paddle shifters on the steering wheel, hard top convertible, and ooohhhh when those turbo's kicked in it was nothing but smiles all the way around. ;D ;D ;D ;D

I did that event 2 years ago. I got to drive the 765i which is the first 12 cylinder car that I've gotten to drive. It had air conditioned seats which was nice because it happened to be 90 degrees out that day. Good fun!

So the "Breast Cancer awareness event" is nothing more than a "BMW Test day" in disguise.... How can anybody help the "Breast Cancer" fight by test driving a BMW?

I would love to drive a 6-series coupe, what a bad ass....  unfortunately, when it comes to cars I think the same than with bikes: you have to get the vehicle that gives you reliability, low maintenance cost, low purchase price, and if possible not to showy as to have to worry about it being stolen. A 6-series BMW -well, almost any BMW over here- have many chances to be stolen and sold in eastern Europe.

BMW gves a dollar for every mile driven to the Susan B Komen "Find a Cure".  Now, these events are done all over the country and usually add up to 1 + millions dollars.  A pretty awesome thing to do if you ask me, considering they are giving away alot of money and letting just anyone drive the crap out of their cars and trashing them.
