K8 Build - Saved from the scrapyard

Well I was not looking for another project, but I found one none the less.  It's interesting that K7 and K8's seem to be my "brand" - I do like them!
Anyhow, I found this K8 in the Northeast on Marketplace and was told that it's days were numbered before it went out for scrap.  The chrome looked good and the spokes weren't rusted, which is what I normally look for. 
The wiring was hacked and it looks like something fell on it and took out the headlight and fork ears.
I went for it with the justification that I had many of the spares needed to piece it back together.

Hopefully the gas tank did not get damaged, good luck with the project, following for updates.

No tank, sidecovers, carbs, or airbox.
Sean has hooked me up with some spares and I have some carbs.

New CB750 K6 Anteres Red, to replace the totaled K5, I sold this K6 at 45k in 1983, I had heavily modified it, many great memories on it and have missed it greatly.....

I went in 2008 or so, found a rough 19" Lester for $10 and sold it on ebay that night for $180, it was a good mix of American and Japanese with some automotive stuff, but it wasn't very big meet then, not sure about now.

I'll be at Mike's early with my van on my way out of town for a few weeks. I can carry stuff back up north for you guys, but I won't be back for a while.

Well, today's swap meet was a bit of a disappointment.  The good news is that i will have more funds available for Rice-o- Rama in September.

Update - and fast forward a month or two, the bike is a runner.  Sort of.  The bike needed alot, including a new harness, carbs, carbs rebuilt, etc....but it is back together enough to run it.  Pics to follow this evening.
