I will be sending the blocks out for plating around 1/14/26. I need for folks to contact me as I have to pay for the plating upfront as I did for the pistons.....it's getting expensive for me and I need to keep my wife off my back.🙄😄

Not affiliated with this group buy, but have a question:
The coating that is applied to cylinder block (Nikasil); is this for a racing setup only?

Meaning that it has to be re-plated again after so many runs, or is it as durable as the steel liner?

Harder than iron sleeves. The piston skirts will wear out first. And yes...it can be stripped an replaced if necessary (after cylinder damage caused by dropped valve etc.)

I was really fascinated by your idea of putting aluminum sleeves into OEM blocks and then having the Nikasil applied, or that was what I thought you were talking about anyway.

I'd love to have a copy of your blueprints to see if I can carve one of your blocks from billet on my bridgepoort in the garage at home.

The aluminum sleeves in a stock cylinder is cool. Anything to help with heat dissipation. Your interference fit would have to by much at all with the sleeve flange there. Heat the block, freeze the sleeve and it would drop right in. As for the blueprints........ ;D

L0L, there is a predicted weather event. I've been seeing weather bulletins telling people to get off the road when the snow squall comes through, I'm not sure how far north the snow alert goes but the -50F wind chill warning extends to Wi. for sure.
One forecaster said we could get between one and a hundred and seventeen inches of snow.

With the cold air in place many are forecasting snow down through mid Texas over to the east coast of Georgia, up through New England, the 15° F forecasted for Sunday here in NH will bring the light powder snow production to upwards of 20"/1" water vapor values compared with the normal 10"/1" value and how far north the storm center tracks(they still don't know where it will track or the outcomes!).
Even the written forecast from NOAA that the weather watchers get is talking to keep a big eye open with the deep cold wind chills into the -20° to -40° F here into northern NH, frostbite in short minutes possible. So yes definitely an EXTREME WEATHER EVENT......

Not quite that much Stu.They certainly are  well packaged so we have that going for us. Should arrive there tomorrow....I'll check the tracking today. In the mean time I have to shag more firewood from the main pile to keep that stove cranking. Got plenty of pellets for the pellet stove.😉

I've been shopping for a good quality ring compressor, or is it better to get two?
I'm thinking the plan is slide all pistons in the bottom of the sleeves one at a time, then lower the center pair first, slide first pair of pins and clips in before all of the studs are inserted. Next the end pair, then the rest of the studs.
Does that make sense? The last time I tried it all of the cylinder studs were in, and it wasn't very workable. It sure was easier to get the rings tucked in though.

I installed with the 4 center studs to start with.  Less obstacles.

This one has been prepped for heavy duty studs so that process seems do-able.
