Manufacturers Cup race- SGMP
« on: April 07, 2025, 08:20:51 AM »
The 1st Manufacturers Cup Dragbike Series event is in the books. Three 750 sohc's were in the house. Jim Trent hauled his immaculate bar and slick machine down from Tennessee and commenced to set 2 personal best times over the event. On Saturday morning he flashed the board with a 9.81 ET at 129 mph- impressive for a 970cc single cam.  Unfortunately he decided to sit out the remainder of the event due to soreness from the impact on his body against his seat pan when the bike launched. He did vow to correct the design and will be returning at some point.

Wilbur had a brain fade with his air-shifter armung and struggled a bit with consistency maku g a short weekend for him.

I came off the trailwr knocking down a .00 reaction time, took  one round win but allowed a redlight start to stop my advancement in street ET.  On another note i made it down to the final 5 bikes in pro ET on my Kawasaki dragbike when i lost due to a horrible reaction time coupled with a breakout pass.

Overall it was a very good weekend because I got to hangout with my fellow SOHC racers.

We did manage to get a few photos in on Saturday evening.

I wish we could have taken a few close ups of Jim's bike. Its a work of art. Wilbur and i learned a lot about his progress on this piece and plans for future changes that should make it even quicker.

I tried to watch a couple times but without a time slot to watch I didn't last long with too much to get done.
