50 years of original ownership
« on: April 30, 2025, 10:16:01 AM »
April 2025 marks the 50th year my 1975 CB750F0 and I have been together. Purchased new at Pug Vickers Honda in Huntingdon, TN. I've just returned from 4 months abroad. She awaits the first gassing of our golden anniversary.

She has been through many iterations throughout those 50 years. From riding 70 miles home that first day to blowing her up in Daytona 1976 to now. She has taught me the nuances of initially becoming a jack legged Honda 750 mechanic to finally the intricacies of finessing her into a 915 beast. She has stayed with me the whole time and not complained once even when I flog the #$%* out of her. She has outlasted the 3 other marriages. She is always there for me through thick and thin and won't leave me. The one constant in my life. And this forum and our members have been a huge contributor.

Thanks to Honda and all of you. I would say "here's to another 50 years" but unfortunately she will realistically outlast me. I just hope when it's time her next husband will be good to her.
As of today 3/13/2012 my original owner 75 CB750F has made it through 3 wives, er EX-wives. Free at last.  ;-)

Congrats on the 50th with your 750/915 Jerry.  I remember the ride we did back in early 2000's from Heffay's place in Louisville to Estes Park..et al [I was riding my 550K..still have it BTW].  I also have very much appreciated the long lasting friendships I've made with SOHC4 members here.  You've certainly been one of the most consistent of them my friend.
Best..Al/Ichi

Well written…😁

Congratulations on the 50th…🎯😇

I’ve had my F1 since 1980. Same time I got my best girlfriend…
She’s still all stock… She requires a little more patience getting her warmed up nowadays ..If I get her battery charged up. And If I choke her a little and pump the throttle a bit she’ll start right up.. Takes a little additional time to get her warmed up just right. But once warmed up you can drive her hard.. He’ll once warm up she runs as good as a new one…😇

45years with my F1 this June.. I’m thinking my best girlfriend  may be the one, too. Going to be 43 years of holy matrimony this fall..  The F1’s all stock except the exhaust. It runs pretty good too…🤫
