Was surfing the web and bumped into these guys .. http://www.spec2.com/index2.html

Looks like they have front fork braces for the entine CB series bikes

.. Does anyone have CB 750 Fork Braces from these guys ?

I wouldn't buy any fork brace that I didn't have a picture of. I'd be worried that the brace would be the type that clamps the tubes a couple of inches below the bottom triple clamp and not the type that clamps on the top of the fork lowers.

I have thought the same thing about the Spec2 guys. I have goon back to their web site so many times looking for information but without any pictures I have now removed them from my bookmarks...

it would be interesting to call them up and ask for more details and actually see a pic of the brace installed on a cb750 .. i might do that when i am ready for a brace ..

I know a few guys running specII chambers on their two strokes and the quality is good. I don't think they make the pipes any more though. The fork braces they list are telefix braces which you can find pictures of on the web in other places.

Me too, I really need to find a good brace, and I do like the look of the Telefix brace. And I think they can be bought in natural or black? I am going with a custom fender up front and really need to add the brace for additional fork integrity...

The telefix braces are good braces that mount on the top of the fork sliders. I bought a set of telefix adjustable clip-ons from Spec 2, and was less than impressed with their service. I did get my clip-ons, but only after about 6 weeks for a part they said they had, and only after numerous calls. They did deliver, but it wasn't the smoothest process ever. But you'll have a hard time finding anyone else to get that stuff from in the US.

On that note, I have a telefix fork brace for a 750, but its the late model F-type (calipers mounted behind the forks instead of in front). Its not the one that I need, so if anyone has a use for it shoot me a PM. (it has been beadblasted by a PO)

The term "fork braces" make you think that they actually clamp to the fork tubes. Al l fork braces connect to the upper part of the lowers. And not to sound like I work for Spec II, but they have been around for many, many years. They used to( and may still) make nice expansion pipes for the GT Suzukis and 2 stroke Kaws back in the day. Telefix has also been around foever. Certainly names you can trust.

So which is it? A fork brace or a tweek bar? I don't want to get caught up in a war of words, but it's a tweek bar. It seems to me that it was called something else too, but that was sooo long ago. When I first started in the biz in '85, these accessories were just fading away. And you are right about the extended fork thing. My first bike had one on its 6" extended forks for about a week. Luckily, the bike came to me with the stock tubes as well.

I blame youth for this. These kids weren't around when some words were used the first time. I cite as an example something I saw on a sports talk show a month or so ago. They were talking about steroid use in todays sports and refered to them as "roids". My question is:When did the term"roids" stop being short for hemmoroids" I guess todays youth hasn't suffered that one yet.

I received the Telefix brace and tried to fit it yesterday. Sorry to say that the brace is too wide for the standard CB750 later Super Sport models as indicated. It is almost 0.25 inched too wide at the narrowest adjustment on the brace. But the clamps themselves are perfect and retain properly on the lowers just below the wiper seal.

I would venture to say that the brace is made for a Goldwing or a DOHC model. I am going to contact Spec2 on Monday to see if they know what brace I have with the marking "A2".

I am back to the drawing board...

New information directly from Telefix. Does anyone know what a CB750C is??? I am guessing that like there is no F3 in europe, that maybe the "C" designation means somthing we don;t have here in the US...

The CB750C is a DOHC "custom" (ie cuiser) model, 1980 or 1981 era I think.

Can you give me the dimensions on this Telefix brace you have?

I am working with an early goldwing fork, and would love to fit a brace.

If you could give me the minimum inside width, and the diameter of the actual clamp that goes around the fork slider (fork lower).

Kamal,

The clamp diameter where it attaches to the top of your fork lowers is approximately 2.175 inches. The minimum inside dimension between both clamps is 5.25 inches and the maximum is around 5.40 inches. The arch top extends just a little over 0.75 inches from the flat side ob the bottom clamp. All of the screw hardware is pretty much trash and the two spanning lock-down screws are galled and the tapped side needs to be cleaned out due to aluminum deposits.

And the dilemma continues....

I have received information from Telefix directly after a couple weeks asking questions back and forth. Again the problem originates with the European models not matching any of our models. For instance take a look on the Tarozzipaolo site listed one message above. All of the models for the Honda are all different with different years than what we are use to here in the States.

So I get two options from Telefix directly when I sent them my fork dimensions. Their PN 65.15.19 marked B2, or 65.15.01 marked A1. They are not sure which one to use... Again because the have never heard of a 1978 F3 or even a 1977 F2 CB750 because they have those models listed in the early 80's...

The brace I bought maybe a Telefix PN 65.15.20 that seams to be made for our 1981 or 1982 DOHC CB750 with a center to center fork dimension of 192mm.

I tried calling Spec2 to see if they could convert the Telefix PN's to their PN's... Well there is a message. They are so busy that they are not answering their phone right now...

Wow... I try to make this work and all I get is 3 weeks of headaches and a block of aluminum that I can't use for $50...

Any insights or suggestions are welcomed...

for clarification,the fork brace is the telifix and other products like it,the tweek bar is what is in the ebay ad.but the terms are somewhat interchangeable too.

In conclusion. I have a worthless Telefix Fork Brace for sale. Worthless to me because contrary to the last owner the brace will not fit a 1977-1978 Super Sport...

But the Brace will fit a 1979-1982 DOHC CB750 and CB900... So I will be posting the brace on the "For Sale" section and asking only the same amount I paid, $50... Or if anyone is interested, contact me using my private email link by clicking my member ID.

I wouldnt pay too much attention to the years. MY cb500 was listed as 78-79.....

I'd say that most important is the "covering diameter" the size of where the brace clamps.

the tarozzi have some adjustability for between tubes distance

I was online looking for a fork brace and came across this guy and I called him and asked if they had any for the CB750 and he said he did not think so. They were listed and I asked him how anyone would buy one if they could not see a photo of the brace and then he got mad and said yes they are ugly and you probably would not want one. Good by. Very arrogant!!!

He could have helped me in some way like pointed me to a photo of one of his products or a description anything. But he just thought we should buy it and then find out. WOW>
