Try putting them in boiling water.
That usually works for me as it softens the rubber and expands the aluminium

I tried the boiling water technique earlier, but didn't have any luck.  Before loading up and heading to the Honda dealership and reading your post, I thought what the hey, I'll try it one more time.

Took a lot of effort, but they are OUT!  In one of the forks, it looked like one seal was simply stuck on top of an older seal, but since I had removed most of the rubber, maybe it was two rings encapsulated into one seal.  No matter, they are out!

Thanks!

One last question to all, as previously mentioned, the new seals are very pliable and do not have a solid metal ring like the ones I just took out.  Are these seals going to work okay or are they some cheap version that is going to cause problems down the road?  The are called 'Leak Proof' and according to the package, they are guaranteed not to leak for as long as I own the bike.  Also, these new seals are not as tall as what I took out.

As I understand it, "LeakProof" brand seals are supposed to move a little bit in the lower leg when in use. Apparently they seal around the OD as well that way. Gotta use the snapring keepers, though.

By snapring keepers, do you mean the circlip?

Thanks!

My new seals (yet to be installed....waiting for $ to buy new fork tubes) are Honda OEM and sound like they are like yours. They don't have a metal shell and are double lip seals. Honda upgraded somewhere back in time.Yes.......don't forget to put snap ring back over seal.
