it's been like that for several years but I put up with it being a sunny day rider. These Asian coils fit
well and the electrical properties are basically the same as OEM at just over 4.3 ohms. Secondary resistance is also stock.
The spark plug caps are lower quality so I used/swapped to the correct OEM caps.
The Asian coils work very well with minimal installation effort. The inboard primary tabs need to be shortened like the stock coils and a small hole for the wire drilled to best secure a solder attachment. I basically drilled the tabs close to
the plastic coil body first before cutting. The old numbered wire sheaths replace the ones that came
with the new coils and slide right over the high tension wires to look OEM. High tension wires get cut to length once installed.
Soaked the bike with the hose including the coils and no issues. The bike even warms up better while cooler with good earlier throttling.
The Tytronic electronic ignition trigger which I have been using since 2017 works great with these new coils and
I hope for the same Asian longevity with a new spark on life lol. A fussy guy could use the OEM BK/W, yellow and Blue
coil wires, which I thought about doing once they proved themselves serviceable and installable.
Now I wish I had done that initially.
