E6000 on my CB?
« on: June 14, 2025, 05:25:35 AM »
E6000 can do a lot of very useful things, such as hold things in place securely, until you don't need it to, and it can be completely removed without harming what it was stuck to.  I found the perfect use for it in our SOHC world.   I just installed new intake boots, all 8 of them, and those trumpets like to pop out of the filter box while sliding them past the carbs. They have that very specific groove they are supposed to live in.   Last night I put two little dabs of E6000 at the top and bottom of each trumpet, lined them up and then clamped it down to the bench for the night to keep them aligned.  Woke up this morning and I can now get the entire filter box on and off in about 60 seconds.  (the clamp screws take the longest now).  I highly recommend this for ease of installation/removal, the boots just stay, even if they get hung up on a carb when sliding them in.  Just awesome.
