After a long winter, reinstall of the new stator went well, hooked up the reg/rec as described above and finally came the point of firing the bike up - first time with volt meter reading a healthy 14.4V  ;D Will get a test ride once it stops raining!

I completely agree!! Probably the first test ride will be a 7hr round trip to Vermont for haggis  8) Im hoping for this Sunday  ;D
