airbox rubbers
« on: April 13, 2007, 07:05:56 PM »
Hello,
I am new to this forum so I hope that you all will be patient with this newbie.

I have a 1978 CB550K. I am in need of new airbox rubbers (the 4 that go to the carbs). I have been unable to find any available. Does anyone here know of a source for them? Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Joel

I need to remove the carbs on my bike but I'm scared of tearing them; they already have a little tear but much more and that would be bad.  I guess you could use chunks of radiator hose. ???

Do the David Silver spares work for the 78 550? He lists them in the 500 spares catagory it think.

Its under Pattern Parts---->CB550F1/F2---->Airbox Rubbers, which should be the first item on the list.

The 77-78 CB550 K model rear rubber couplers are different than the ones used on the rest of the CB500/550 line including the F models.  They are of different length and diameter.

eBay, used, may be your only source for couplers on the 77-78 CB550 K.

I looked into that as my '78 550K needed them. I e-mailed David Silvers and found out the repro ones they carry will not work on the '78. After 2 tries on eBay, I finally got a set of decent ones that were still somewhat flexible. They are NLA from Honda.
