Now I can start planning the headers.  New stubs made from 304 stainless.

Haven't done much with the motor itself yet.  I do have wiseco 836 pistons and carrillo rods waiting to go in.  I'm planning on sending the head to get guides, porting and seats cut for 33mm intake valves.  Debating how much to do on the bottom end, i.e. do I want undercut gears? Do I want to get a cam? Stock tensioners or upgrade to cyclex?  I want a little more than stock out of it, but it needs to be daily reliable.

Difficult balance to maintain. The motors are pretty stout, PeWe's big motor is an example of how far one can go, pretty impressive.

Yeah, main thing I want is to not have to get into the motor because of a shifting issue or rattling chain right after getting finished.

One down side to a frame swap is sometimes a simple job needs extra work.  Cylinder 3 needed some pie cuts to sneak past the frame.

First header is close to finished.  I'll get the second one done before finalizing muffler location.

Is the exhaust going to interfere with the fender with the suspension fully compressed?
Don't fix it if it ain't broke!

No, that's just the angle of the shot.  It stays behind the front frame tubes.

That is VERY nice. Kudos to your fabricating skills!

What are you doing to seal the header to the flange? It looks like it will be a slip fit with retaining springs?
Young, Dumb, and Broke, hoping to fix 2 of those.

Yep, it's a very tight slip and I will add springs once the system is finished.   I don't want to add them before everything is in place.

Thanks,  I'm getting better at TIG welding as I go.  Thankfully there's a good welder at work who will give me advice and tips.

Did you straight out the exhaust flanges so the pipe can slip into all 4 at once? I ran into an issue on my collector since the left and right ports face like 15deg away from each other it was a PIA to get all 4 pipes to seat cause I'd have to bend them out while trying to mount it.

It's going to be 4-4, so no issues with that.  The mufflers will bolt together for support, but will be installed 1 at a time.
