wossner pistons
« on: August 05, 2025, 03:22:09 AM »
Ok,  I searched and there isn't much of anything about wossner pistons here.  I'm curious if anyone has used them.  I know they only have 65mm with a 10.25 CR.  But I also know on the drz400 their piston is 50g lighter than wiseco, and only 10g heavier than stock when you go big bore(pin and rings included on all weights).  So I was wondering if anyone knew if it was similar for these bikes.  I know the weight difference shouldn't be as drastic since the pistons are smaller.  I'm not ready to buy yet, which is why I'm asking now instead of when I'm ready to lay out the cash.

I haven't heard of them. Looks to be a 2 ring piston instead of standard 3 rings??
Not much information about them on their web page....

I have limited experience with them helping a buddy build a Hayabusa engine. They were nice, light pistons. Comparable to CP, JE etc. Hell....anything CNC'd should be decent but as an old fella I once knew used to say...."people can F up a $hit sandwich."

A german site sell them
Wössner ( ö like  u in "urban")
https://www.bikeside.de/WOeSSNER-BIG-BORE-piston-kit-836ccm-65mm-4mm-10301-for-CB-750-Four-K0-K6-F1-69-78

One big thing Honda should have done better, con rods.
If going for bigger bore than 836, the price tag will suffer.

I have noticed that 970-1000cc compensates for 30kg more of me than when same bike had 836cc and mods in the 80's! ;D ;D

Ok,  I searched and there isn't much of anything about wossner pistons here.

They are highly recommended by two-stroke Kawasaki guys for their bikes [H1 & H2] but I didnt use them when I rebuilt my Kaw motors.  [I used Wisecos...]

I found a site with an actual picture of the pistons.  They look pretty standard for an old 2 valve honda.  I've used one on a drz400, and one on a 8mm stroker xr200.  The drz the big advantage was it was 50+ grams lighter than other big bore options and only a little heavier than OEM.  I know they make good stuff, I'm mainly curious to hear from anyone that has used them in a cb750.

They sent me a spec sheet. It is missing the weight, though.

They just got back to me. They should weigh ~220g. Basically, it's the same weight as stock, I believe. Super fast response times from their email, btw.
