New/Old Member from NE Pennsylvania, USA
« on: July 29, 2025, 05:26:48 AM »
Hi all, used to be a member a million years ago, but time passes quickly and I needed to re-register.

Total transparency: I'm old, don't have a lot of minutes left on your planet, and don't want anyone else to have to deal with my STUFF. I did that for my parents and borderline hated them for it. Not gonna do that to someone else.  So while I'm not a shill, or advertising all over the web, I would like to offer things for sale here to enthusiasts rather than resellers or whatnot. So that's pretty much why I'm here. I'm also expecting to meet some great folks and learn a bit, because I'm always too curious for my own good.

Last count was 28 bikes. A chinese dirt bike, 2 Yamaha, 2 Harleys, and 23 Honda from 1972 to 2005.  These are bikes I currently own, not have once had. And I need that number to go down.

55 years, a couple million miles of riding, racing, rallying, and rockin' on.

Howdy Joe welcome back aboard the forum from southern NH.
At 68 I'm still having fun working on and riding my 750s, hoping to continue into my 90s, Lord willing.

So, the strategy is to lie to people you are asking for help?

I think I'll be busy going for a ride.

Good luck!

Thanks all you old guys.  ;D

This reminded me.....

"1975 K5 Planet Blue my summer ride, it was a friend's bike I worked with at the Honda shop in 76, lots of fun to be on it again "

At the dealership I worked for, I sold a new bike to a friend, who later parted ways with it in favor of an MGB, which really didn't much more weather protection. A bit later I saw one like it advertised for sale in the Paper Shop, a sales flyer that worked pretty well before anyone heard of the internet.  It had a nice price, so I went and bought it...turns out it was the one I sold.  Four new pushrods and it ran like a really large out of balance sewing machine!

New pushrods?? Explain that....

No, I worked at a shop that sold Benelli, Jawa/CZ, Bridgestone, and Tora when I was in high school. The bike in question was a Benelli 650 Tornado...you know, the one that you could buy in JC Penney Auto Centers!

Side note, before Benelli released the 750 Sei, they brought one to every Benelli dealer in the US.  And we got to ride it! What an absolute thrill for a kid.  ;D
