CB400f Missing Oil Pump Dowel
« on: August 02, 2025, 01:27:00 AM »
Chasing leaks I found myself renewing all the seals in the oil pump, when removing the pump I noticed only one dowel shown in the picture, would this be an issue reassembling with the dowel missing? Or was this the cause of my leak?

It could cause a leak in theory as the O ring is not stopped from going inwards, does the parts list show 2 dowells?

I just finished replacing my pump seals. There are two of those small dowels and two larger dowels; all holding o ring seals in place. This may be a dumb question: is the missing dowel perhaps still in the case half of the pump?

Was definitely missing when I removed it. I took one to my local machine shop and they made me a few!
