Handlebars - CB550 vs. CB500
« on: August 14, 2025, 03:34:08 AM »
I'm searching for new OE bars for my 1974 CB550 to replace aftermarket.  I assumed the CB500 would be the same but after checking part numbers, they are different.  Does anyone know what the difference is between the two and are they interchangeable?  Numbers listed below for reference.

CB550 53100-374-000
CB500 53100-323-000

Thanks

This ^ could have been my question. I don't have the answer, that is: not yet. All I know, is the CB500K2 GENERAL EXPORT also has the 53100-374-000 bars. Could be a minor detail like the presence or not of little pins to locate the grips.
Anyone?

Probably a slight difference in angle of swept back bits or height from clamps.
500 K0/1 had small clocks more or less flat later us K1/2 had small clocks angled towards rider with full chrome backs, 550 had large clocks so possible bars had different shape to clear clocks.

Both had switch wiring inside bars so would hysicaly fit
