Very interesting, would be great to see some more photos. It's always fun to see what creative and skilled people can accomplish. The carb setup is unique, that intake runner assembly is very interesting, I'm wondering how the outer intakes (1,4) fare sharing the  mix.

ever seen a slant 6 chrysler manifold?

6 in a row makes it go!

There are some interesting slant six set ups, including the Super Six which came stock in some cars. Souped up ones I've seen have dual carb set-ups with more even distances for the intakes. Doug Dutra makes dual exhaust set ups as well -- his page has a ton of interesting info, he's a guru.

They went back to inline with the Hurricane. I've always been a big fan of inline engines.

In line 4's and 6's are very good, the 6's have very good primary and secondary balance. The CBX was a work of art.

Servicing the carbs is painful, but the rest isn't so bad? I still have dozens of valve shims for them (and the CB750 DOHC, almost the same engine in many ways).

Mark, in UK we had the big blue books with supplied workshop manuals, i think there were 18 volumes when i finished, to do the CBX shims needed new gasket, very expensive, a tube of contact adhesive and 3 blue books to hold the valve cover to gasket on a flat surface till the glue went off, and the 4 half rotations per valve to change shims
