Bracket Removal Question
« on: August 23, 2025, 09:53:03 AM »
1978 750 F Super Sport. Is it necessary to remove the swingarm bolt in order to replace the left side foot peg bracket (looks like it is)?
Thanks for any responses.

Yes the swing arm bolt goes through the footrest brackets, one side has just the nut but other side needs bolt removed, if you only want the bracket off and have the luxury of a spare bol push the one out with the othe and put nut on opposite side

Because its longer, if you just want to hold the swingarm in you could temp fit a standard one

What do I need to do? Will the bolt simply slide through, or do I need to hold anything into the swingarm (i.e. bearings, etc) as the bolt goes through? Thank you for responses.

I'd put it on the center stand and put a shim under the tire, slide one end of the bolt in as the other one slides out, that way one side is always supported. It might be a good time to clean and grease the swingarm collar though.
