I snatched victory from the jaws of defeat. Old carb, new choke plunger, non-resistor thread stud spark plug. I started it on canned pre-mix, now it has no alky fresh fuel, hopefully the new injector will get oil to it in time since I primed the oil line.
It idled for 5 minutes, hopefully it will stay fixed this time. Now, can I remember how to put this messed up Tupperware back on? I might just add the seat and run it around the yard a few laps before I get too excited. I did see a footbar for sale that doubles as a slider bar and a footrest. A proper crate on the rack and it's a good pit bike.

Great news Don, yes run it before fussing with the plastics.

I had to get creative with fastening the multi-broken plastics back on. I rode the Zuma to the corner and back, got it up to 25 going up the slight incline. It did a few laps through the backyard so the pits at the drag strip shouldn't be any problem.
It had an occasional miss, as long as it ran on full choke with intermittent spark, I'd expect it to be badly carboned up. Maybe a dash of seafoam depending on label directions.

The Zuma has been delivered to my daughter's house, the more we ride it the better it runs. A PO said it needed ether for the first start every day, it's difficult to imagine that with the fuel enrichment plunger missing. They have a few golf cart trails through the timber, it should handle that well.

Sounds like a good keeper Don. When I was putting one of mine back together I found some clear tape about 0.025 thick, I forget the brand but it helped to hold some areas together and camouflage in pretty well.

It might be a pit bike next year when we start racing but there's no good reason to let it sit in a trailer when my kids can be using it. They have about an 1/8 mile lane that the three family members have houses on and a few acres of golf cart paths.  No license plates or registrations needed there.

I'll check out gorilla tape, I think I saw it in clear. I think they tied it down over the floor and the strap did the damage. I used a strap that goes on the grips and pulls each way.

Don….. A 2-stroke that “runs best on full choke” usually means it needs crankcase seals?

🤔😐  Might be good to give it a pressure test Don.

It didn't run best on full choke, it ran awful. The pilot jet was plugged though, I think some "carb fixer" lost the fuel enrichment piston off of the end of the cable.
It's already running the trails at my daughter's house, starts great with a little choke then doesn't need any.
